I have been living with the most awesome girls ever!!! Its me, Charissa, and Cameron in our little humble abode. Last night we watched Love Actually, a very good movie for those who are interested in a new movie! It made me think of home because there is a scene in the movie where people are getting off the airplane and hugging and seeing their families, friends and loved ones for the first time in a while. The whole movie is about love and it got me thinking about the love in my life. I have so much love in my life from my family, friends, and my fiancé!!! I am so fortunate to have the loving parents and grandparents I had growing up. I realize that I am so fortunate because the children here may never experience the childhood that I experienced!!! Thanks to all of you who had a hand in helping raise me and giving me such a wonderful childhood!!!!
Today we went to town (Kalomo) and bought some goodies! I thought of my grandmother today because I bought chocolate bars, sprite and cookies!!! So in honor of Jackie we are going to have a PARTY in our room tonight with our goodies! I miss that woman so much!!! But the memories I hold of her will forever stay with me!!! As I sip my sprite, I will think of all the times I sat on her blue couch and watched movies and ate chocolate bars and drank sprite!!! Our little party!!! I think of her so often that I am here in Africa and how she would probably talk all these babies ears off! I think I have learned a great lesson here in Africa but I think my grandmother taught me this lesson first. The lesson of happiness and love! Jacqueline Pinto was the happiest and most fun person I know and was very ill!!! She is and will always be one of my favorite people and I hope to be just like her one day!!!! Love to her and all to you!!!!!
You wouldn't be able to pry the babies from Grandma!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I laughed, smiled and cried! I do miss grandma, but I am glad that you have such accurate memories of the parties on the "blue" couch. I believe that melinda also experienced the couch parties but it included ice cream! Thanks, so much for that little trip down memory lane. Love you!
ReplyDeleteThose were honestly my favorite times with grandma! Just sitting on the couch and talking!!! I miss that! And yes auntie you wouldn't be able to get those babies away from grandma!!! Love you!!!
ReplyDeleteI love you to very much! I know how you feel I miss my grandma very much but at least we can look back and remember awesome they were. I'm very happy your project is going well. Your missing out on 104 days here. Nothing much going on except kenly is doing better she is coming around.
ReplyDeleteAwww Jillian...this made me tear up as well. It's wonderful that you have such special memories of your childhood & your grandma Jackie! It's nice that you've taken her to Africa with you. Oh what joy she would have had with those babies. Hang in there & know we miss you. You only have a few weeks left so savor every moment.
